Fencing Poles For A Game Estate
My dad is a get it done yourself-er and excellent with his hands. The animals, of which we have buck, zebra, buffalo, and hippo to name but a few, needs to be kept away from people’s homes and the domesticated livestock and ponies that are also on the estate. There’s even a chicken farm, not that hens have horns, but, as you can imagine, that’s a large amount of animal life needing secure fencing and a lot of fencing poles!
The perimeters of the estate are fenced along with some of the interior but more fencing is urgently needed, especially along side dirt tracks to prevent the creatures from straying off. The original fence is also ancient and is starting to display wear in some places. A gathering of the plot homeowners was called and they made a decision to combine their cash and get new fencing professionally installed where necessary. My father sensibly agreed that this was the most effective strategy because even he would not want to cut fencing poles for such a large area himself. He joked that he might still be into the next millennium if that was the situation but he did offer to set up and oversee the fencing assembly process.
I went along with him at the time he ordered the fencing poles and I must mention, it was an interesting and informative process for a teen chick who is normally more interested in clothes and nail gloss. I learned that there are a number of diverse kinds of wood used in producing the poles. You can even find poles with the bark still on them but my sensible dad selected eucalyptus as it’s a tough wood that’s nonetheless flexible enough to stop it from splitting easily in the hot South African sunlight. The posts are usually precut but my dad required a few different lengths for various reasons so he had them cut to his specifications. The smell of the raw wood, especially the eucalyptus was quite strong and not in any way unpleasant. It reminded me of the massive eucalyptus tree that we had to have cut down when I was a kid because it was in risk of falling on the house. I got miserable for a little bit because I adored that tree when I was little. The other thing I observed were the high stacks of cut posts all over the place. Even though they were properly secured and couldn’t fall on us humans, it was quite terrifying to think about that taking place. I had to write a poem about it as soon as I got home.

The story endings are based on the productive results of fun, friendship and positive values. This tale begins on Christmas Eve morning. PueDy, his animal friends and the children from the village have decorated a Christmas tree in the forest with ornaments they have made. The animals and their parents will return later that night to wait for a visit from Santa on his way back to the North Pole. Santa leaves the extra food that the children put out for his reindeer as gifts for the animals in the forest. It is a special tradition they do every year. As PueDy is heading home he encounters Santa and the reindeer. They have crashed into a field and Santa’s sleigh is badlydamaged. Using the magic in his tail PueDy and his friends are able to repair the sleigh in time to save Christmas for all. PueDy has done it again. |
